My Success is Measured in the Success of Others
I am thrilled to share that recent ongoing volunteer international outreach on behalf of Canadian theatre makers has resulted the inclusion of Canadian playwrights in Simeilia Hodge-Dallaway’s monologue collection of Audition Speeches for Black, South Asian and Middle Eastern Actors.
The Audition Speeches for Black, South Asian and Middle Eastern Actors Collection aims to provide new and exciting audition and showcase material for actresses of black, African American, South Asian and Middle Eastern heritage. Featuring the work of leading international contemporary playwrights who have written powerful and diverse roles for a range of actors.
Published by Bloomsbury and carried at leading international theatre bookstores such as the Royal National Theatre (London UK) and Drama Books (NYC, USA), the collection is the go-to resource for contemporary monologues and speeches for auditions. Ideal for aspiring and professional actresses, it allows performers to enhance their particular strengths and prepare for roles featuring characters of specific ethnic backgrounds.
Canadian artists featured in the collections include: Camyar Chai, Anosh Irani, Sheila James, Ravi and Asha Jain,Anita Majumdar, Wajdi Moad, Pamela Mala Shina, Djanet Spears, Jordan Tannahill, Guillermo Verdecchia and Marcus Youssef.
