AGE OF MINORITY: 3 solo plays
by Jordan Tannahill
Jordan Tannahill’s compelling and thought-provoking collection of three plays exploring the lives of queer youth – at different points in history – and the challenges they face with violence and intolerance.
“Jordan Tannahill’s Age of Minority is rife with vivid and fragile characters, and includes trailblazing storytelling. His unlikely heroes demonstrate the power of youth and love in a hostile world. He is an exciting and courageous voice of our time who gives us a collection full of imaginative and playful imagery.”

Governor-General Award Plays to Get A New Spotlight
We are pleased to announce the launching of a national theatre project at this year’s Magnetic North Festival of Theatre in Ottawa. The GAP Project will present, in staged dramatic readings, the works of Canadian playwrights that have been honoured with Governor General Awards in Drama. Since 1937, over 150 plays in English and French have been given this prestigious distinction.
This June, the GAP Project begins what will be an annual celebration of the best of Canadian plays. Artistic Director Jack Paterson enthuses, “This is a thrilling opportunity to bring to life and increase awareness the diversity of Canadian contemporary theatrical writing with artists from across the nation – bridging culture, forms and content.”
We début this season with staged readings of Jordan Tannahill’s Age of Minority, a riveting collection of three solo stories of youth, set in East Berlin and Toronto. In future years, the GAP Project will bring to life plays historical, comical, biographical, musical, magical, and mysterious, and in both French and English!
